High-Fidelity PrototypingCreate an interactive experience.
Summary
A High-Fidelity (Hi-Fi) Prototype is, unlike a Low-Fidelity Prototype, a visualization of a product or service in the development phase, which is already close to the final look and feel. Instead of craft materials, prototype software is used to create a detailed design and to make the experience interactive.
Step-by-step
- At the beginning of the High-Fidelity Prototype process, a tool is chosen with which the approach, that so far has existed only as a Low-Fidelity Prototype, becomes interactive. There are various tools for this, such as Figma, Invision, or Adobe XD.
- An interactive prototype can now be created from the visual designs of the product/service with the help of the previously selected tool. For this, it should be clear which functions are available to users, such as navigation elements or onboardings. Prepare the user flows. The goal is to test the product or service under realistic circumstances with users (and customers if necessary) before launching it to the market.
- Good design is user-centered. For this, prototypes must be tested and evaluated regularly. This also applies to the High-Fidelity Prototype. The findings from the tests are incorporated into a new version of a Hi-Fi Prototype to test it again. The more often this process is gone through, the higher the chances of success on the market.
